Movie's with Grandma T.

I think it's safe to say that a movie with my kids will never be the same...
Let me tell you why,

As I mentioned in my father's day post,
We got to spend some quality time with Grandma T. last Friday.
The men (Bill and Grandpa T.) had taken off to a Bike Rally, which presented the perfect opportunity for a Movie/Dinner date with Grandma.
The kids have been DYING to see the new Madagascar 3 (Polka dot, Polka dot, Polka dot, AFRO!)
You know you have sung along with that when the preview comes on T.V.
How could you not really?

It just so happened that Grandma T. suggested that we go see Madagascar 3.
HA!  PERFECT!
Being the sneaky mom that I am, I didn't even mention this outing until we were headed out.  They knew we were going to go to dinner, but it wasn't until the drive over that they picked up on the fact that a movie would follow.  Once they realized we were going to a movie Brenna screamed with excitement, "Are you going to Madagascar?"
"YEP! WE ARE!"

Immediately they both started in with "Circus Afro, Circus Afro, polka dot, polka dot, polka dot, AFRO!" and it continued the entire drive over to the theater.

We hit up IHop for some grub before the movie.  It was a bit early for dinner (2:30pm), but considering that my kids are ALWAYS hungry this time of day regardless of what time they ate lunch I felt it would work out well.
I thought wrong.
Both kids ordered their create-a-face pancake and wasted nearly the entire thing.  The fruit and yogurt were about all the kids could managed to down.  Sorry Grandma!

We got to the theater in just enough time to catch the 3:50 show... Previews were already showing.  We found out seats and sat down to enjoy.  Not long into the movie Sam was full of the giggles.  At one point one of the animals hits another animal over the head with a down pillow, of course his head goes through it and feathers go flying all over.  Sam lost it.  He was laughing hysterically and of course so was I.  It was one of those I look at him laughing and I laugh harder, he looks at me laughing and he laughs harder moments. Needless to say, we had a good laugh.
Now of course I had suggested that both kids go to the bathroom before we went in, and of course they insisted that they didn't have to.
About mid way through the movie, Brenna started the potty dance in her seat.
She and I left the theater to find the restroom while Grandma T. and Sam were left to continue to enjoy the movie. Now I didn't mention that this theater wasn't very full.  There were probably 20 people in the theater with us.  Which meant it was quite quiet and nice.  Apparently when Brenna and I were in the bathroom Sam decided to rip a big one for these poor 20+ people to hear and apparently Grandma couldn't hold her composure.
Again, another one of those uncontrollable laughing moments courtesy of the boy!
Ugh, Boys!

I have to give a quick review for Madagascar 3.
It's VERY cute!  I loved it, I think Grandma enjoyed it, and the kids loved it as well!
I heard many people leaving the theater singing, "Circus Afro, Circus Afro, Polka dot, Polka dot, Polka dot, AFRO!"  It's just so catchy isn't it?
(I know that by now you are probably singing it in your head... I am.)

After leaving the theater we stopped out front so I could take a quick picture of the kids and Grandma T., for blogging purposes of course.
Once they were all positioned I suggested that they all smile and sing, "Polka dot, Polka dot, Polka dot, AFRO!"
Sam quickly suggested, very loudly I might add surrounded by a decent crowd of people, "No, how about we say WIENER!" (Finger up in the air for added enthusiasm).
I Lost it.
Grandma T. Lost it too...
We couldn't stop laughing.
I laughed so hard that I may or may not have peed myself a little.
Don't judge, haven't we all laughed that hard?
I unfortunately was forced to try to hold it together in a public, crowded place...

I still managed to get a picture....

It was time to GO!
We said our goodbyes and I literally giggled about this little outing the entire night.
I am still giggling about it now.

Thanks Grandma for dinner and the movie. We had fun.  We hope you did as well.

Anyone up for a movie with my son?

A Pre-Birthday Celebration

My birthday falls on Mother's Day this year.
This means I either get really spoiled or really jipped.

Julie/Mom decided to take me out to lunch and a pedicure accompanied by my fabulous, amazing, fun, beautiful sisters.
I'm going with
SPOILED
This year!

We all met up at Cafe Rio in Sandy for an early lunch.  The food was good, but the company was even better!  We sat, chatted, and just enjoyed one another.
Sister Steph has a picture of us sisters, I'm waiting for that so I can steal a copy. (hint hint)

After lunch we headed over to the Walmart to get our DELUXE pedicures...
AND THEY WERE AWESOME!
(We missed having Kimmy with us for the pedicures, she had to head home after lunch to a hungry husband and lots of yard work)

Sister Steph, Mom/Julie getting started... Kristin just "soaking" her feet,
Little did she know, the soaking wasn't going to cut it with us!

Warming my feet in the blue water....
Question,
Is the water blue cause they put some kind of special foot stuff in it, or do they make it blue just cause it's pretty?

I must say, nothing beats a good foot/leg massage...
I don't care who it is.
I don't have any weird phobias about people touching my feet.
I LOVE A FOOT RUB!

Now Kristin on the other hand was not having the whole someone touching her feet thing.
She was NOT down for a pedicure, or anything that came with it.
Though the little lady at the nail place was hell bent and determined for Kristin to get her deluxe pedi too.

And she did...
AND OF COURSE SHE LIKED IT!

Kristin getting her pedi on...
We all got dipped in wax, rubbed up, and pretty fabulous toes!

Kristin and Sister Steph
I think it is safe to say that this will be a repeat event for us all...
Including Kristin!

Me and Julie/Mom

THANK YOU
Julie/Mom and my sisters for spoiling me and spending the day with me!
It was so wonderful to have a day with you all.
I love you guys so very much and couldn't have been blessed with a better family.
XOXO

And aren't these some awesomely cute toes?

A Pre-Welcome for new nephew Wyatt...

Bill's step-sister Kristin is expecting her first in June, though he has been attempting to make his debut early.  Though she has been put on bed rest, Grandma T. made the little celebration happen giving Kristin strict orders to park it and don't move.  So there she sat in the nice comfy living room chair surrounded by pillows while we all sat back and watched her open ALL the great gifts she got.

First we played a little game.  The one where everyone guesses how much string it would take to to around her belly.  The one where everyone usually guesses wrong by use of WAY too much string.

Sister Steph on the other hand got it nearly spot on... must be all the experience she has with pregnant belly's.  After four kids you MUST be and expert right?

Now, like I said... Kristin got some great gifts and some MUCH NEEDED diapers.  She is a brave soul and is going to attempt using cloth diapers only aside from when the are out and about.  Then she will use disposable ones to avoid the hassle of toting around soiled cloth diapers in a diaper bag.  Ew.  She scored blankets GALORE and TONS of cute clothes for the little man.  She even got a few nursery decor items.  Nick and Sheri (Bill's step-brother and his wife) so kindly gifted a car seat stroller combo which was displayed at the shower, but I somehow forgot to take a picture.  VERY CUTE!

Sister Step used all her amazing talent with these cute little cupcakes.  She really is a crafty thing.

She even added a cute little duck to the blue milk...

Wait... Blue Milk?

I'm still waiting for Sister Steph to post about where blue milk comes from.  She is the expert ya know.  She has already determined where pink milk comes from.  In case you're wondering... read HERE

I am going to have to say that blue milk comes from Elephants... What do you think?

Easter/Sand Hollow Day 2

Wow, notice how I made it through Easter weekend Day 1 and have slacked on getting this day 2 post to you all?  Yeah, this shows just how BAD of a blogger I am.

Day 2 (Saturday) started off perfectly with some delicious breakfast burritos...

I tell you what, those trailer things sure do come in handy. Had Sister Steph and Uncle West not been with us, I am certain our breakfast would have consisted of meals more along the lines of cold cereal and breakfast bars.

I slept amazing that night, though it did get a bit cold for my liking. My wonderful husband allowed me to use his tent set up which includes a VERY comfortable sleeping pad and an amazing, soft, squishy, warm sleeping bag. I am so glad that he did cause I think I would have gotten cold without it. I checked on both kids around midnight and they both had their heads tuck up under their covers, I then covered them with another blanket and layed worried about them until I dozed off myself. When I asked them if they got cold the next morning they both said no, which I am happy about. I was really worried that they would. NONE of us wanted to step out of our sleeping bags in the morning either because that cold was lingering. We all know that when duty calls, ya gotta do what you gotta do so eventually we HAD to brave the brisk morning air.

Sister Steph and her Circus woke not much longer after my little rug rats drug me out of the tent. I was thankful because it gave me a warm place to hide out until the sun started to warm up the outdoors.

We hung around camp for just a little while, until the kids started with their swimming requests.  Saturday was a much warmer day than Friday so I wasn't so hesitant about letting them go before lunch.  Grandma and Grandpa T. came up Friday evening, but they stayed in a hotel so not long after their arrival we round up the chillen's and went for a swim.  This time we went over to the submerged day beach near the boat ramps to swim.  They have these beautiful red rocks that you can wade over to and climb around.  Grandpa T. brought up his scuba diving gear and he and Bill had the intentions of making it out into the water to scope out the sunken plane it the lake.  Grandma T. headed over to the rocks with us and the kids.

Most of the kids... Minus Sam.

Though most everyone decided to brave the water, Sam was still not quite sold on submerging himself all the way. Grandma T. was kind enough to cart him around the water and rocks.

Grandma T. Playing water Taxi

I opted to stay on dry land and just take pictures.  Sister Steph had this same plan initially, but after witnessing all the fun everyone else was having she decided to just head out in her clothes.

Sister Steph made it across!

The whole gang spread out among the beach.

Now there was this picnic table submerged in the water.  The initial goal of the kids was to make it out over to that table.  First the older kids made it out....

And after awhile they helped the littler girls out to the table too...

We hung out for a good hour or so.  While the kids (and adults played)...

I sat back and just watched.  I spotted my handsome husband out in the water way out yonder.  He was trying to get use to the water before taking the plunge and heading out to the under water plane.

The water was COLD, I did put my feet in and quickly pulled them back out.  Slowly the kids (and dogs) began making there way back to the rocks.

We then decided to wonder over to where Bill and Grandpa T. were attempting to head out for a dive. Bill sat out in the water waiting for Grandpa T. to gear up, only to find that Grandpa forgot some of his gear (really important gear) and couldn't go diving after all.

Grandpa was pretty bummed about this, but Bill was okay with it.  He said he wasn't really looking forward to getting his head in the water cause his wet suit just wouldn't warm up.  Well, this was all fine and dandy of course until Bill decided he would throw a frisbee out into the water for the dog and it sunk.  He then had to suit back up (after he had already put on all his dry clothes) and search for the frisbee.

He spotted the frisbee and attempted the little dive several times... But he wouldn't sink.  His suit was full of air and he wouldn't go down.

It wasn't until after several attempts that Grandpa T. advised Bill to raise his arm and let the air out...

After locating the frisbee again, first dive down he snatches the thing and heads back out of the water freezing cold... that head of his ended up getting wet anyway.

We headed back to camp for some lunch where Grandma and Grandpa Eldredge joined us for a few hours.  The kids played and dug and played and dug... Grandma Eldredge worked on a quilt and us adults just sat back and talked for a bit.  Brenna thought she was being sneaky and was hiding from my camera.  She thought that she was doing a good job at avoiding me attempting to pull away just before I took her picture... yeah, she failed miserably.

Ha, and I just think this next set of pics is funny... not sure Jaymee was happy about me snapping photos of her eating.

This kid is just cute!

Notice the brightly painted nails?  And it almost looks like Bill is drinking the fingernail polish.  Sister Steph had the girls out at the table painting their nails like Easter eggs.  It was a really good time passer for the kids... Though Bill would have opted for other entertainment.

After Grandma and Grandpa Eldredge headed back home from visiting us, we went out for another swim.  This time we went back over to the sandy beach where the kids enjoyed the sand, sun, and water once again.  The guys all went out four-wheeling so it was just the kids and the ladies.

I don't think I have mentioned Suzanne yet.  This is Wests mom, and her dog Cedar.  Sam really took a liking to Suzanne.  He even ended the weekend calling her Granny like the other kids.

Steph and Wests dogs decided to take a jog down shore, so Grandma T. and Steph had to go chase after them.  After this they ended up tied to the picnic table.

Apparently it is a normal thing that at least one of Sister Steph's kids get buried when they come to Sand hollow.  Sean started the getting buried thing, and some of the others quickly followed.  I didn't get a picture of Sean, but he was a muscle man.

Mermaid Brenna

And Mermaid Cali

It was only appropriate that Brenna and Cali were maid into mermaids considering they were pretending to be mermaids the majority of the weekend.  Those little girls have quite the imagination.

We went back to camp and had some dinner. Being Saturday, the day before Easter we had some eggs to dye.  I am not sure how I didn't end up getting pictures of the egg dying, but I didn't.  All the kids had fun being creative and surprisingly enough with eight kids we didn't have any spills or much of a mess at all for that matter.  After the egg dying, Lindy and Sam (Wests sister and brother in law) put together a glow in the dark Easter egg hunt for the kids.  It was really neat.  They filled Easter eggs with little glow bracelets and there were little glowing eggs scattered all over camp.  Again, I didn't get pictures of this either... I can't believe that!  You can see some pictures from the egg dying and glowing egg hunt at Sister Steph's easter weekend post HERE.  We let the kids sit around the fire for just a little bit before sending them to bed. Steph and I then put baskets together and I headed to bed myself where the rest of my little family was sound asleep.
