Saturday was kind of a lazy day... the kids and I got a late start, so around noon I was getting them a little snack, being that we ate breakfast at 10. Pulled out my new apple slicer, first time using the thing, and Look what I did!
Yep, I am just that good! Sliced my middle finger on my right hand pretty good... wouldn't stop bleeding... and it bled a lot... Poor Brenna was completely distraught, Sam thought it was so cool! My mom came and sat with the kids so I could drive myself to the insta-care around the corner. I ended up with a nerve block in my finger (a shot right at the base of my finger that goes right into a nerve, NOT FUN), a tetnis shot (OUCH!), and 5 stitches! Better believe next time I use the apple slicer, I will be much more careful!

Growing up...
This school year Brenna has had quite the noticable transformation, not only in looks, but also her intelligance. This has been her 2nd year of pre-school, and she is SO ahead of the game. She can recognize most of her letters and all of her numbers, colors, and shapes. She recently started working on learning to write her name, and it only took her a couple weeks to get it right. I personally feel she is ready for kindergarten, but then no longer allow testing to get into kindergarten early. Brenna misses the deadline by a month, so she will be nearly 6 and will have finished a 3rd year of pre-school before she starts kindergarten. They said that after she is of age to start kindergarten, if they feel she is ahead, they will then skip her up a grade... Kind of frustrating. Not only does it suck because she is beyond ready for kindergarten, but ALL of her friends are starting kindergarten this year as well. Out of all our close friends and family, she was the last born, so although she is right around the same age as them all she will be a grade behind. Oh well, what can you do? I will just continue to work with her on advancement... who knows, maybe she will be reading before she starts kindergarten... how would that be?
