Letters To My Children

May 3, 2012

My Sweet Boy,

Just nine days ago you turned five years old.  It was a day I can honestly say I struggled with only because you are now too big for me to carry around the house propped upon my hip. You are not a baby.  You don't need me as much as you use to.  You are far more independent than I would have ever imagined possible in your short five years of life.  I struggled because as your mom I want you to NEED me for the rest of your life.  Each year that passes, I know that your need for me will decrease... I don't look forward to that part of you growing up.

This next year is sure to bring some amazing moments and milestones in our lives.  I have so much to look forward to this next year being your mom.

I look forward to the day you start Kindergarten.  It is the first step toward becoming the successful adult and man I know you will be.  I look forward to watching you blossom socially and academically; making friends and finding your place among your peers.  I look forward to watching you play baseball.  You have such a mean throw and a good follow through swing.  I know with your determination you will become an amazing baseball player. I look forward to teaching you to tie your shoes and ride a bike without training wheels.  I look forward to being a mommy to the most amazing little man I know. YOU.

Sam, I hope you will always know just how proud mommy and daddy are of you.  Just how much we love and adore you.  Just how much joy you bring to our lives, world, and family.  You my son are a bright, loyal, lovable, and amazing little thing.  I look forward to watching you grow.  Always remember you are never too big for a hug, kiss, and snuggle from your mommy.  Even when you are a grown man, a father... My lap will always hold a special place of your very own.  Now matter how many years pass by, you will forever be my baby boy.

Love You Forever... To the Moon and Back,
Mommy
