A mosquito bite allergy...

Update on Brenna... we went to the doc yesterday afternoon and she is on the recovery side now. She is doing good and the swelling is going down. As of yesterday afternoon she was free of infection except just under the actual bite. She is happy as can be!

Well, we found out last Sept. that Brenna was allergic to mosquito bites when she got her first bite ever on her face and she blew up like a balloon and ended up in the hospital with IV anti-biotics. The bite quickly became infected and she ended up with Cellulitis surrounding her eye. I guess that is pretty dangerous because the infection can easily go to the optic nerve straight to the brain. Well, Saturday evening, she got her second bite ever... guess where.... Yep her face AGAIN! The opposite side this time... the mosquito was actually pulled off her face and I quickly washed it and did what I could. Well, her face blew up like a balloon yet again... first thing in the morning I took her to the urgent care clinic... he gave her an antibiotic and also and antibiotic ointment in hopes it would kick in quickly and stop the swelling and infection from spreading... well within 6 hours her swelling had doubled and the infection had spread a lot. So, I had to take her back to the clinic to get an antibiotic shot... but when we got there he sent us up to the hospital for IV antibiotics. So we went up there and I was really pushing them to not admit her... so they did what they could last night in the ER... gave her two doses of antibiotic through the IV and also a steroid and some benadryl. We got home about 2:30am... and we have to go back at 2 this afternoon. I just hope it starts to improve before our trip in this afternoon... I would hate to have her have to get poked again. She was such a trooper this time. She was super Brave and I am so proud of her. She woke up this morning and her eye looks worse than last night, but they said the antibiotic should kick in by this afternoon... heres to hoping. They say this is what we are going to have to deal with when she gets bites by those pesky little bugs... How do we avoid mosquito's????

Is this normal???

Okay, so I have been having issues with my son and his eating. Every meal I sit him down and he takes one or two bites then he begins throwing it. About 98% of his food ends up on the floor. I can't get him to eat hardly at all... unless of course if it is fruit snacks or cookies. My concern is that he isn't getting enough to eat cause he refuses to eat it he would rather play with it and throw it everywhere... Do I even need to be concerned? He is already a super skinny tiny kid.

Let me tell you about PANIC!!!

So, last night I went to check on the kids before I went to bed... Sam, golden... Sound asleep. Then I walk back to Brenna's room, and her door is shut. Very out of the ordinary... she hates her door shut. So I open the door sneek in, and check her bed... she is no where to be found. My addrenaline slowly begins to rush as I tear the blankets off... not there! Search through all her stuffed animals that were thrown all over her floor... not there either! Look under her bed... not there! So then I really start to panic... So I go flip on her light. As I do that I hear a little mumble. Okay, a little at ease... she was there somewhere. Well, and the head of her bed there is about a two foot space between the headboard and the wall. Low and behold, curled up in a little ball, head in the corner, fully covered head to toe with a blankt... not visable at all... passed out fast asleep... First reaction as I lift the blanket is my heart drops in relief that I had found her, then had to hold back the hysterics. Not only cause she was sleeping in such an odd place, but because the way I paniced.

I need help!!!

So I have been wanting to change my little layout on this blog thing, and I found a couple I like but when I copy and paste the code it gives me an error and tells me it can't save the layout. Someone who knows what they are doing... can you please walk me through this!!!

I love kids way of thinking...

So, last night I called Bill's mom to check in with her to see how she was feeling. She had her gul-bladder removed about a week ago, then had another small procedure done a couple days ago... so we were just talking about her health and such. When Brenna came up and wanted to say "Hi". So I gave Brenna the phone and she began her conversation... Bill's mom and Step dad live in St. George... so I heard Grandma tell Brenna that she really wished she could come down to see her... Brenna's response was, "No grandma, I can't I am already in my pajamas." LOL! I just thought that was soooo cute!

Happy Anniversary.... A day late!

Well, Yesterday was mine and Bill's 4th anniversary! We layed low most of the day, and then dropped our kids off at Grammy's house at 5:30 so we could go have some much needed alone time. Our gifts to eachother are tattoos, so we went and checked out GoodTimes, and looked at a few of there artists portfolios... we have made appointments with a lady named Bonnie. She does very bright colorful work... I am super excited! Now for the exciting part.... For all those reading this and know me... you are going to be SHOCKED! I have an appointment on Aug.27th to start my half sleeve! I have been wanting this done for some time now... and it is finally happening! YAY! I have the theme of it all picked out and the artists has the drawings under way as we speak! Bill is going to get a scottish lion on the upper part of his arm, and thistles down where his other work is done. I will post pics as they come! Happy anniversary baby... I can't wait to be old and tattooed with you! xoxoxo
