He's a Natural!!!

So yesterday as the kids, Bill, and I were outside enjoying the warm weather... Sam decided to be daring! To our amazement, he climbed up on Brenna's little motorized four-wheeler grabbed the handles, pushed the button and took off riding! It was the craziest thing to see my barely 1 year old driving this little thing around. In fact, he rode it better than Brenna does... (but we will never tell her that). He was driving off the curbs... through gardens... over rocks... nothing got in his way! He was having so much fun, and was so proud of himself. He thought he was hot shit for sure! After about 40 minutes the fight to get him off was very difficult. I guess it's time to buy my baby his own little four wheeler at 1 year old.

Okay so, this is a big shout out to one of my bestest friends in the world. Been friends since the age of three. She was featured today in IN (utah this week) mag this week as one of Utahs sexiest! I'm a BIG girl now!

Brenna has been BEGGING to get a big girl bed for a couple months now. She felt that because she used the potty that she didn't need her "baby" toddler bed anymore. So being the frugal person I am, I kept my eyes out for the best deal. Fortunately my neighbors were cleaning out there garage a couple weeks ago, and offered me there bunk beds. How convenient, and perfect timing too! I of course excepted the offer... so now we have a bed for Sam when he gets a little bigger too, since the bunk beds break down to two twin beds. We had to get rid of some things in Brenna's room to make room for a bigger bed, so it took me some time to actually get it set up. Happy to say we got it put up yesterday at 6pm and she didn't want to leave it! She wanted to go to bed right then. She is so funny. She stayed in it all night, and only woke once to go to the potty which is a nice change from the frequent attempts to sleep in my bed on a nightly basis! My baby girl is growing up, it is amazing how fast it happens!

Summer Fun... Finally!!!

I think we can say it might officially be summer. We were in the 90's today, so we decided to pull out the kiddie pool for the kids to play in. They were both so excited, Sam just couldn't wait... he dove in in his clothes as the pool began filling... but as soon as we got him in his suit and the pool had more water in it, he decided that he didn't like it much. Brenna on the other hand... I had to fight to get her out! Last year she hated the water, I am so happy she likes it this year. Makes for a fun time! We played in the water for about 2 hours, and she made sure before she went to bed that she got to do it tomorrow. I am so excited for many more fun summer times!!!!

Happy Fathers Day!

Yesterday was a very beautiful day to celebrate the special men in my life. Bill had to work, so unfortunately we didn't get to celebrate with him much, but we will make up for it! The kids and I spent the day at my daddy's house for a yummy BBQ (ribs) and fun in the sun!!! The kids played hard, which was nice when bed time rolled around! I love get togethers with my family... it is so fun to see all our kids interact with eachother, and to see what great friends they are all becoming. We were missing one though... Kielee was spending the day at her dad's house... we missed her! I hope everyone had a great fathers day as well and enjoyed the time with family... I know I did! One last wish to my dad and Bill, Happy Fathers Day!

We've got a full time walker!

Wow... It took Sam so long to build up the courage to take that first step. He was so unsure of the ground beneath him, he saw it double for so long. Once he did finally take that first step, he remained timid... and was very cautious in his learning process. I am proud to say, he is WALKING EVERYWHERE! It is just so darn cute to see his little penguin waddle. I know this little man is going to give me a run for my money, and I know in the next month or so the excitement is going to wear off as I begin chasing him down everywhere I go. But for now I am EXTATIC!

Is this Global Warming???

Well, here we are 6th of June, and it is 65 degrees outside. Imagine that! Today is my little sisters birthday, and her birthday parties have always consisted of sun, water, and outside FUN! Not this year... It is so crazy that we are supposed to be super concerned about global warming, and we are having a global cooling! This year has been such a weird year in the weather department, and to be honest... as I am sure I share this with many people... I am rather tired of the COLD! We have been promising Brenna for over a month now that we were going to go fishing and camping, and I think she is beginning to think we are big liars. Will summer EVER get here?

My Man, Livin' on the edge!

Well, I am officially married to a BAD ASS! Bill just got his first Harley, and I must say he looks HOT riding it! This is something he has wanted for a very long time and I am so happy that he has finally got one. My dad has been a GREAT deal of help in making this happen for him, and I thank you SOOOO much daddy! I love you dearly. So now all I have to say, is ride on honey... AND enjoy every minute! Hmmmm... now, what do I get?

My first Blog!

Well, here I am with a Blog! Not surprised, I am a myspace junkie... so may as well have one of these too! You can check me out on myspace as well at myspace.com/brennasmama. We are The Tomlin's, Bill, Jess, Brenna, and Sam. Bill and I were married in August of 2004 and imediately decided to start a family and in October of 2005 we were blessed with our first little angel. Brenna who today is 2 and a half and full of spunk! She is my smarty pants, and loves to be right! She is a wonderful big sister to her little brother, our second little gift from god, Sam who joined our family April 2007. He has just turned one, and after a few complications with his eye sight and 1 surgery later is finally learning to walk, and enjoying being able to see the world around him. Much thanks to his wonderful doctor Dr. Peterson. He is a mommy's boy for sure, and I can't complain too much about that! We live in our own home, in which we were just recently joined by my father in law Brent, who is taking over the basement. He moved in for a couple years until his retirement, and then will reside in Spirit Lake, ID with his wife Julie. I am always okay with a little extra help around the house and yard, since I have two little rugrats that keep my hands tied most of the day! I plan to maintain this blog to the best of my ability... so stay tuned for more to come!
