Sam does the #2!

Today Sam came up to me, and he totally had the poop face... yeah you know the one... pure consentration. So I said, do you want to go poo poo in the potty... he ran to the bathroom, so I took the diaper off... he had just a little in it,so I put him on the potty. And there he sat for a good 4 minutes. I thought he was just pretending to push, but low and behold... he really pooped! I was so proud of him, and he was super proud of himself. When he was done we were sure to get him a big smiley face sticker! YAY SAM!

Meet Ronan...

YES!!!! I finally did it! I convinced Bill (with a little help form Brenna) to let us get another family pet... one I have been wanting since I got rid of my other kitty when I had Brenna. Isn't he CUTE! He was a stray that was brought into the WVC animal shelter about 5+ months ago, and there he has been ever since. He is approx. 2 years old. Although Brenna was drawn to the little kittens, I explained to her that we needed to adopt an adult cat because it is a lot harder for them to find homes. She understood and we began dong the meet and greets with the cute furry felines. Second cat that we pulled out was this big fat black cat! And let me tell you, he was perfect. The kids beat on him, malled him, kissed him, hugged him, and he wasn't even fased by it. In fact he loved every minute of it. After about 30 minutes with the kitty, we made the decision that he was the one. After the adoption was complete, I of course opted for them to place him in a box for the car ride home... being that EVERY cat I have ever owned or know of for that matter have been petrified of car rides... well, he was petrified of the box. I felt so bad about how scared he was, so I decided to just put him in the truck and pray he doesn't panic. The second he got into the truck he was diggin it... looking out the windows, just chillin'. Then when we started to go, he went and laid on the back seat with Brenna and laid his head on her lap to pet him. He enjoyed the ride quite a bit. I was amazed. I knew then we for SURE made the right choice. Once we got home, I was expecting him to go in and explore his new territory. To my surprise, he walked in, look around for about 3 seconds. Made his way to the kitchen, hopped up onto one of the kitchen chairs and laid down. Seriously it took him all of 1 minute to make himself at home. He just fits. And the kids love him, and surprisingly they are malling him too much. He is such a good kitty and we are excited to have him!

Sam's gotta Mohawk!

This is something I have been wanting to do for a LONG time! He was in DESPERATE need of a hair cut, I told Bill I was going to take him to get it cut and then he said why don't we just give him a Mohawk.... That was all it took and right after lunch we took him in the bathroom and Bill and I gave him his first official Mohawk. He is such a STUD!

Crafting for Turkey Day!

So yesterday I had made plans with the fam to have a day of crafting. Something to do for some quality time together as a family. We are doing Turkey Day feast at my dads house this year, so I got to talking with my step mom about doing some festive decorating, and having all of us make the stuff. We decided to make some personalized placemats, and I am going to be puting together what is called "The tree of thanks" and everyone made there own leaf to hang on the tree and each leaf has what that person is thankful for writen on the back. Then, last but not least, decorating our own drinking glass for dinner. Well, we got through the placemats and the leaves pretty easily. The kids really seemed to enjoy it. At one point 5 of the 8 grandkids were fighting over there papa, and it turned out to be a great picture opportunity! Then when it came to the glasses, pretty much everyone was pooped out and ready to go. I think I will just finish those and the kids can pick which one they want the day of. Anyway, everyones stuff turned out really cute and it will be neat to have the placemats for years to come as the kids get older. I will post more pics after turkey day of how everything turned out. Don't know if I am going to try to do this whole craft thing again, at least not with everyone. Maybe put some stuff together and they kids can do it at there own leasure or something. However the most important thing is that the kids had a great time, and I think it will be a memorable day for them all.

The Taurus (myself)

So my sister had a post on her blog about her reading up on her astrology sign... this got me curious, so I started reading up on mine. There is so much of it that is right on with me... then some things, that are far from me. Mostly the jealous and greedy. Anyway, here is the link if you yourself is interested...

http://www.astrology-online.com/
on the left hand side go down to sign explanations.

There is one part that really stood out to me, totally my way of thinking. But I also think that it is just a good guote in general... think it could apply to many people not just us Taurean's...

"Ultimately the Taurean needs to discover their truest, deepest and highest values. When they know what is truly valuable, they are no longer chained to people and to things that have to do with lesser values. The greatest indication of value to a Taurean is beauty, which cannot be owned, only appreciated."

CHEESE!

So yesterday I was making dinner, concentrating on what I was doing. And I kept hearing the kids say... "Cheese, Cheese, Cheese!" After about 3 minutes of it I turned to look at them and they were sitting at the table posing... waiting for me to take pictures. I thought it was funny. So of course I got out the camer and took a few. I love them!

My loving hubby!

(please excuse this pic... Bill was pretending to be anchor man at the children's museum, but it was all I could find of him. He avoids the camera like the plague)

Okay so, I have been fighting this extreme exhaustion feeling for like a week or more. I am so worn out by the time I get the kids to bed, but usually have so much more to do before I can go to bed myself. And EVERY night I have been getting this terrable headache... thinking it was maybe my pillow or my bed, I got a fluffier one in hopes that would ease the tension in my head, neck, and back. Well, that didn't work, so needless to say IB profin has been my best friend the past couple weeks. So last night, I got the kids in bed at 8, and remarkably the house was mostly clean, a couple dishes in the sink, and a few toys on the floor... nothing that couldn't wait till morning, so I plopped my butt on the couch, cuddled up to Billy, and before long... Bill was saying "Honey, why don't you just go to bed?" So i did... and it wasn't even 9pm yet. I was OUT cold all night long... didn't even hear a peep out of the kids all night. (hope I wasn't so out of it I just didn't hear it) This morning I was awoken by my two cute little muffin heads givng me kisses. Rolled over and Bill was standing there... "When are you going to get up?" he asked. I quickly responded... "What time is it?" His reply "Almost 10." Jaw dropped to the floor... Of course I was quick to thank him for letting me sleep. I sure needed it! I am just so glad that he picked up on how truely exhausted and overwhelmed I have been, and although he works hard to bring in the money, he took me into consideration and let me get nearly 13 hours of sleep! I am just so grateful for him today, and I am so revitalized! Thanks Honey!!!!

Voting Day...

So here it is, 1:20pm and I am still trying to figure out which way I am going to vote. I have stayed as up to date as possable on this years election, and those that are running. At this point, I am sure I share this opinion as SEVERAL people out there, I am not particularly fond of either of the two presidential canidates. In past elections, I was questionable as well, but figured I would vote for the lesser of the two evils... or so I thought... therefore went with Bush! Boy was that a mistake! So this year I am positive I can't vote that way, thinking there could possably be a lesser of two evils. Personally I think they are both equaly as retarded, mischevious, and dishonest. McCain is just a flat out moron... and what can be said for Obama. I am 99% sure that I am going to write in a vote this year... that way I can say I didn't vote for either of them when our economy remains in this horrific downfall... I can't imagine I am the only one out there that is having a struggle on this topic this go around!

I needed this one...

Thank you Tasha for sharing this one... I think that all of us need reminders sometimes what Family is. There are some people out there that I love dearly whom I hope have the chance to read this and get out of it what I have. I love you (you know who you are) and I can only hope regardless whatever harsh words have been thrown around these past few months that although we are hurt, we still have to possability if moving on. My family is the #1 most important thing in my life and I can't even express how torn up I have been inside knowing I am loosing mine. I want the three of you to know that I love you so much and I hope we can get through this. Blood is thicker than water and my life would never be complete with you in it. I once was told that when all else fails the one thing that you can always count on remaining is your family... because in the end, regardless of wrongs or rights... you can't change the blood you share or bond you share as a family.

NAIL IN THE FENCE

Make sure you read all the way down to the last sentence. (Most importantly the last sentence)

There once was a little boy who had a bad temper. His Father gave him a bag of nails and told him that every time he lost his temper, he must hammer a nail into the back of the fence.
The first day the boy had driven 37 nails into the fence Over the next next few weeks, as he learned to control his anger, the number of nails hammered daily gradually dwindled down. He discovered it was easier to hold his temper than to drive those nails into the fence.
Finally the day came when the boy didn't lose his temper at all. He told his father about it and the father suggested that the boy now pull out one nail for each day that he was able to hold his temper.
The days passed and the young boy was finally able to tell his father that all the nails were gone. The father took his son by the hand and led him to thefence He said, 'You have done well, my son, but look at the holes in the fence. The fence will never be the same.
When you say things in anger, they leave a scar just like this one. You can put a knife in a man and draw it out. It won't matter how many times you say I'm sorry, the wound is still there. ' A verbal wound is as bad as a physical one.Family and Friends are very rare jewels, indeed. They make you smile and encourage you to succeed. They lend an ear, they share words of praise and they always want to open their hearts to us.'

My medical case!

So on Saturday night we were invited to a friend of Bill's, whom we haven't seen in awhile. There were several of the couples there with there kids, they were having so much fun just running around, playing barbie, and riding the pouncing/rocking horse! Brenna is such a pasive kid when in groups... she is really quiet, just kinda go with the flow kind of girl. She was riding then horse and Lexi (one of her little friends) had seen the older boys lifting up the horse and tiping it so whoever was on it would fall off. Well, Lex decided to try it, being that the boys were having so much fun doing it to eachother... but Brenna fell off, and started to scream. Poor Lex felt really bad, and said I thought she could hold on. After taking a look at Brenna's arm, and also considering the time (11pm) Bill and I had decided we didn't think it was broken because there weren't any signs of swelling at that point, and thought she may have a sprain. So I gave her tylenol, and decided to leave.

She fell right to sleep, comfirming in my eyes that it really couldn't be broken otherwise she wouldn't gone to sleep. I figured if it still hurt by morning I would take her in. Well, BOY WAS I WRONG!!!! She woke up about 2 1/2 hours later just SCREAMING!!! Everytime she would move it made the crying worse and soon she began to shake it was hurting so bad. I felt like CRAP~ I brought her in my bed to lay down and propped it up... it worked for about an hour then the crying started again, by then she could have more tylenol... so we gave her some, and I pulled out an ace bandage and wrapped her arm completely straight. She seemed to help a LOT. She fell back to sleep, only to awake 3 or 4 more times just briefly cause she was uncomfortable. Well of course first thing that morning I called in to the urgent care clinic and asked if it was better for me to just go to the hospital or if they were equipt for handling such things. They said to just bring her there... so I did and after about an hour and a few x-rays... the doc came back and said she had a compression fracture in her wrist, and that by the way she was favoring her elbow he wants to wait and get a second opinion from the radiologist on that before he put the cast on. So he sent her home in a splint and sling for now until Wednesday and then we will find out how big a cast she is going to get. She is feeling much better, now, which the doc said she would once her arm was stablized and unable to move. She has only needed tylenol once since the splint was put in place. So we will be sure to post some pics of the cast when she gets it... until then, the challenge is keeping her from bumping it or falling on it. She seems to think she is invincable!

This is HALLOWEEN!!!

This year we had a WONDERFUL time! It was our first year to have the opportunity to go trick or treating with my two youngest sisters, Shania and Skylar. I think I was more excited about this than even the kids were. I was super extatic to be able to have this memory with them. And I think they were excited to be able to share it with there nieces and nephews. My sister Jaime joined us also with her 4 kids. We started off on our adventure at my dads house trick or treating the nearby houses there. I think we were out maybe an hour or a little more. Then Shania had made plans to go out with her friends so we went back to dads... Shania (the sailor) went off on her own, and my sister along with her kids went back to her house where I met her with my kids and my little sis Skylar (Dorothy). We went out for about another hour there. Overall it was a good night and the kids got TONS of candy. We ended the night at my sisters so we could go through all the kids' candy before they started diggin' in!
