Kids say the darndest things... Part 2.
Okay so this just might become a regular or repeat type of post on my blog. But I just can't help it! My kids say some of the funniest and ammusing things. So here is today's story, and I appologize for the profanities, but the story just has to have them. We all know that the vocabulary of an almost 2 year old isn't all that clear. Being who my kids dad is, they both think that farting is just hillarious... imagine that. Anyway, Sam used to say "I Fadid" pretty good pronunciation for his age... however recently it has turned into... "I fuck it" I know I shouldn't laugh at that, but I just can't help it cause he is just too dang cute... Today I was sitting here, again with my niece Ella, Hmmmm I see a pattern here (maybe she helps bring this stuff out in my kids), and Sammy says... " Mom, I fuck it all night!" Yep, I laughed so hard!!! In case you are lost here... In translation "I farted all night" Apparently he was suffering with a little gas last night!

Satin Sheets... Happy Birthday!
My lovin' man turned a whopping 28 on Saturday. With the craziness of our life lately... I wanted to do something special. Something memorable, and heartfelt. So, as most know I did a little pin up photoshoot... turned out great. With those pictures I made him a little 18 month calendar, which I titled... "Reasons I love you." And with each picture I put one of the many reasons that I love him, and I fall more in love with him everyday... Also included each month was an "I owe you". I know... may be a little more information than anyone wanted to know... but being his gender, how could he not appreciate this right?! Anyway, one thing that Bill and I have NEVER had is a place that is nice, romantic, and ours! Yeah we have a house, a bedroom with a bed in it that is "Ours", but that is all it has ever been... a place to sleep. Nothing nice, nothing spectacular... just a bed, with cheep bedding, and a floor to throw our dirty clothes on. So, in addition to his pics and calendar... I decided it was time to make us our little get away place at home. I am really pleased with how it turned out... and although the satin sheets are going to take some getting used to... We finally have something that we can both enjoy. A beautiful, romantic, clean bedroom! Happy Birthday to the love of my life... and with all the chaos we have been encountering lately, I hope your birthday was as amazing as you are! I love you Billy!
The marshmellow thief...
The other day, I was busily cleaning house... and all those mothers out there know how this goes with two little rugrats. Every room you clean, that is the one they move to to start up a new mess... Well, Sam was particularly bad this day. As I was cleaning the livingroom... the kids were supposed to be in Brenna's room watching a movie. Suddenly I heard a noise from the kitchen, when I went to go see what it was... this is what I saw as I walked in...
But who was the little thief??? I then went into Brenna's room, there they both were... sitting on her bed watching the movie... neither of them with marshmellows.... Hmmmm.... I grab the camera, take a pic, and decided to just continue cleaning as if I didn't see it.... a few minutes later, I spot Sam out of the corner of my eye "PI" style sneaking into the kitchen... I pretend I don't see him, wait 30 seconds or so and take the camera along with me into the kitchen... and here he is "Caught Red Handed"...
Of course as soon as Brenna heard me say... "You little marshmellow thief!" She came a running in to join in the clean up process...
Fortunately for them I had just swept and mopped the floor...

I would like you all to meet... Sleeping Beauty!
Brenna hasn't ever been much of one to play dress up... as most people know, she rarely leaves my side! She is finally starting to detach herself a little from me, and using that little imagination of hers. Although she doesn't watch Sleeping Beauty nearly as much as she does 13 going on 30, she thinks that Princess Aurora is the best princess EVER. She made a turtle at school last week... what is it's name you ask... none other than "sleeping beauty" Her baby too shares this name with the turtle... And a couple weeks ago, she too transformed into sleeping beauty... this was Brenna as Sleeping beauty! She is just so adorable isn't she!

Kids say the Darndest things...
This may be one of those "had to be there" moments but yesterday my niece Ella and I were telling Sam to say a bunch of different words. I think it helps build there vocab by doing this, so we were doing it for like 10 minutes... Everytime he would get a word right we would praise him, tell him good job. Brenna was sitting on my lap, and suddenly she pipes up and says... "Mom," I reply "what?"... then she says with a BIG smile on her face "Pop Tart!" with such excitement "I can say Pop Tart!" Ella and I just bust out laughing... so hard we were crying. Obviously she was feeling a little left out... So we then started trying to get her to say more complicated words, ones that kids usually don't say right... Cinnimon, yep got that one right... Spaghetti, yep got that one right... Aluminum... she sits there in silence for a minute then says "Cheese Stick"... again we are laughing our butts of. We find one she doesn't think she can get so she says something she knows she can say... Supercalafragilistic... she didn't even attemp that one... Calamazoo... her reply "I can say zoo". Anyway, I am laughing by butt off writing this... like I said, you may have had to be there... but man, kids are hillarious!

Let's go fly a kite...
Although I didn't get any pictures, I just wanted to share about some mommy/babies time the kids and I have had this week. It has been so incredable nice out, and The kids have been loving every minute of being outside... However, the past couple days they seem to have been starved for my attention. Brenna especially (imagine that). I have been pre-occupied, well... I should say really, I have been lazy... sitting at the table, soaking in some sun. So, after some mass amounts of whining... I was wracking my brain for something we could do, outside, in the sun, and together... then it dawned on me. Last year (about this time) I had bought Brenna a kite for easter... but when it came time to set up easter baskets, I couldn't find the kite... and the other day, I came across it. That was perfect... I went a grabbed the kite, and asked the kids if they wanted to go fly it... they were both so excited. Brenna sang "Lets go fly a kite" for the next two hours. There was a small breeze, and we got the kite up first try... Brenna had her turn flying the kite, and before we knew it the kids across the street joined in with their kite... soon Sam wanted his turn. He held it for about 3 minutes and quickly became uninterested in his kite... the neighbors had ELMO! So what does he do??? He lets go of the kite to run to theirs! Oh boy... there went our kite! stuck on the neighbors roof!!!! I spent about 20 minutes trying to get it down, then finally gave up... until I saw the cute little neighbor girl trying her hardest to get it down, because Brenna was crying... so I went and helped again. Eventually after breaking the string, we were able to get the kite down, tied it back together... and flew it for about another 30 minutes. It was actually really relaxing, and the kids amazingly enough were really into it! I had forgotten how much fun it is to fly kites... I think the easter bunny is going to be bringing all 4 of us kites! This would make some great family time... Kite flying and BBQ at the park... Anyone in???

My babies brighten my days!!!
So, today the kids have been outside for the majority of the day. Just running amuck, and having a ball. About 10 minutes ago they both came in with a handful of flowers... granted, I kinda want some left in my yard, but when I saw the excitement on there faces when they gave them to me and Brenna said "mommy we picked you some flower, because we love you" My eyes welted up with tear, embraced them both.... and thanked god for the reminder of just how fortunate I am to have such great kids!

St. Patrick's Day Hair...
UPDATE:
Okay so I posted this blog earlier without having given this hairstyle a try myself. As Brenna sat down to eat dinner I pulled out what few hair things I had and gave it a shot! Obviously I need a little practice. It isn't as flawless as I would like, but she was moving number one, and also her hair is so short. I need to pull the leaves of the shamrock in a little closer together too, but overall I think it is going to be a HIT on St. Patty's day! Thanks "Adopt a 'Do"
Okay, so I have never really been too into these hair blog things because I cut Brenna's hair so short awhile back and it is really hard to do anything fun with it. However, I just saw this post on my sisters blog, and I LOVED this hairstyle! I think it is actually something I can accomplish with Brenna's hair length. I will definately be trying this one out. Here is the link to the hairstyle... http://cutegirlshairstyles.blogspot.com/2009/03/st-patricks-day-hairstyle-lucky-do-3.html
Being that I am about as Irish as they come, St. Patty's day is one of my favorite holidays! What a better way to celebrate than with a super cute hairdo! If anyone is interested in this Hair blog, This is the link to that. http://cutegirlshairstyles.blogspot.com/
She recently renamed her blog because cute hair is only one of her passions. Second is adoption. Hope you all enjoy this hair as much as I do!

Here we go...
So I have taken the advise of others, I almost feel dumb for even questioning whether it was okay to potty train because everyone said the same thing "let him take the lead" or "go with it". So today we went and bought him some new underwear... he chose Elmo and super heros. First thing we did when we got home was put them on... thus far he has remained dry, and has used the potty 4 times. I am still feeling a little like this is too good to be true, but I am hoping to not have to buy diapers anymore. Keep your fingers crossed, I am soooo rooting for Sam right now!

Is it too soon to potty train???
I have been contemplating this for a few days now. Sam has recently found a liking to peeing in the potty, which is awsome. I don't push him to do it, he just tells me when he wants to do it. I would say he is using the potty about 50% of the time now. When I began to potty train Brenna I think I did a few things wrong, which I don't want to do with Sam. That is why I am not telling him he has to use the potty... I want him to like to do it. I just don't know if it is too soon to buy him underwear and start encouraging the potty use. He isn't even two yet, and I know that kids go through a curious fase and this is all this may be, but on the other hand I don't want to miss my shot if he is ready. What to do, what to do? Why can't kids be born with a "How to raise me" manuel tied to there hip.

Some much needed outdoor playtime!
Yesterday was absolutely beautiful, I am sure you are all aware of that though. The kids and I had some running around to do in the morning, but when we came home we spent the afternoon in the backyard (which by the way is a total disaster) playing on there new playground climber thing, and digging in the sand. It was soooooo nice to spend some quality time with them outdoors. I had all the windows open in the house, and let the breeze just blow through... my house feels so refreshed! Winter stuffiness is gone, for now anyway. I had to take the camera out to get some shots of the kids, Brenna was all about being posing for the camera. She was so funny... she would position herself and say okay mom, take my picture... this is so cute huh. Sam couldn't care less about the camera, he was just all over the place enjoying himself. I don't know about everyone else out there, but yesterday was MUCH needed... I was starting to loose my sanity (what little I have left anyway) being cooped up in the house. Hope everyone enjoyed the warmth yesterday... Here are some pictures to enjoy!

Happy Birthday Bronski!!!
Today was a wonderful day! I was able to take my baby brother out to lunch for his birthday. He will be turning 13 tomorrow, and it is so crazy! I enjoyed spending some quality time with him today, I miss him terribly. Thanks Mom for letting me check him out of school for a couple hours.
A few of my favorite things about Bronson are his generosity, his kind heartedness, his sensativity, his sincerety. I love him to death, and no matter how old he gets he will always be my baby bro!
Bronson, happy 13th birthday... Seems like only yesterday you were that little terror that was constantly getting into mischief, but now your such a handsome young man... Can't believe you are a teeny bopper now, man I am really getting old! Love you lots and lots!

TP Head...
So, Brenna and Sam have recently taken a liking to the disney movie Aladin. Today Brenna comes running out of her room and says "mom you have to see this, hurry!" For those of you who haven't seen the movie, or just haven't seen it in a long time at the beginning of the movie there is the guy who begins to tell you the story... anyway, when I get into her room it is at this part and Brenna blurts out... "can you believe it mom, he is wearing toilet paper on his head!" She was just hysterical! The toilet paper of course is one of those turbin head things... I am not about tell her that, I love that everytime the movie starts she laughs at the toilet paper head!
