Can you say "TERRIFIED"!!!
So this moring, the kids woke up at about nine after a long night of fireworks and fun... I lazied around until about 10 then decided I had better make some breakfast... Blueberry pancakes were in order by Brenna's request. So as I preprared breakfast, Sam was in and out of the kitchen... trying to get the painting tape, fruit snacks and such... when finally I had it with him, gave him a swat on the bum and sat him in the living room. I walked out of the kitchen for a matter of 2 minutes to use the restroom, and returned to my cooking. Sam was being awfully quiet, so I searched the house for him. As i opened the door to his room, I just saw him shove something in his mouth... when i got closer to him, I saw the open children's tylenol meltaways bottle open and emptied out on his bed. OMG!!!!!! I started freaking out... yelling at him to drop what was in his hands, and to open his mouth... At that point Bill came in and started shoveling what he had in his mouth out, which was only a couple of them. As I sat there counting what he didn't manage to consume of the nearly brand new bottle and realized that he had eaten around 10 to 12 of them. I immediately got on the phone with poison control... in such a panic. I really thought i was going to take my 2 year old in to have his stomach pumped... much to my surprise, poison control told me even if he had consumed 13 of them, it wasn't enought to do any damage, however if he started acting out of it or weird in any way to take him in, otherwise just go about our day normally. Whew.... RElIEF!!! He has been fine today, and actually took a 2 hour nap. Hmmm imagine that. I am so shocked that even got ahold of them number one because there were up on my kitchen counter pushed clear back up against the wall and behind my purse, and I am even more baffled as to how he got the bottle open!!! It is one of the ones where you have to have the errows lined up just right in order to pop the lid open. I think it is time to invest in a locking medacine cabinet!

Growth Spurts...
I don't know about all you other mom's out there, but for my kids growth spurts come along with some pretty intense Growing pains! Sam hasn't started with the waking up screaming cause his legs hurt yet, but it seems that every couple months Brenna has a week of middle of the night pains in her legs... I used to just get up, give her some tylenol and rub her legs until she fell back to sleep. I am one who doesn't like the frequet use of medacine for my kids, only if it is absolutely necessary... And at the perfect timing, my sister in law and her mother started a business making all natural body products. check out there website!
http://www.thecreeksidecreations.com/
I was telling my sister in law about the severity of Brenna's leg pains, when she handed me this...
I SWEAR by this stuff! It has worked wonders for Brenna. When she wakes up in the night, I just put a little dab of this oil on my hands and massage Brenna's legs with it. It really does work, and now I don't have to use the tylenol. I encourage all parents to check out this website, not only do they have body stuff, they have cleaners and such too... all safe with little ones around.
I decided this post would be appropriate today because Brenna was awakened last night with leg pains, and I figured why should i be the only one to benefit from this wonderful product!

Best friends....
When I had begun to think about having kids, I hoped and prayed more than anything that they would be close to eachother. I was fortunate to grow up with siblings, and although we fought... there is one thing that never faltered and that was the love we had for eachother. We always knew that if one of us needed anything, we would always have eachother.
As I have watched Brenna and Sam grow up together, even with how different there personalities and interests are... they are the BEST of friends....
Last night durning our bed time routine, Sam and I were in Brenna's room tucking her in and giving goodnight hugs and kisses (Brenna LOVES to be put to bed first so Sam can help tuck in) and when it was Sam's turn to give sissy loves... Brenna wrapped her arms around him and said "Sam, your the BEST brother EVER!" Made my heart melt! And then it brought me back to this....
When Sam was born I was amazed at the amount of love that Brenna had for her new baby brother, it was sooooo touching! And I remember thinking to myself... 'How long will this last?' Granted these moments between them are few and far between these days, but there is no question that that love for eachother is still there. I love my babies, and I am so glad they have eachother to lean on!

Father's Day motorcycle rides...
Yesterday, father's day, we had a family BBQ at my dads. It was fun to just relax and enjoy eachother's company. We could have done without the wind and spiratic rain... but none the less it was fun. As we were all cleaning up and getting ready to leave, Benjamin came in with a bike helmet on, so I told him to ask Papa for a motorcycle ride. My dad eagerly went outside and got the motorcycle out and gave all the grandkids a ride. I think that made his day all worth it. All the kids were really stoked about going on the bike except Brenna. She is my little scaredy cat. Eventually after watching all the other kids have fun, she decided to go, and before they even got out of my dads yard she said "This is sooooo fun!" She will be happy to go next time! Anderson was too little to ride, although he wanted to... his little legs were just kicking with excitement the entire time watching the kids go for rides.
Swimmin'
Although we have had RAIN nearly everyday this month, the kids and I were ready for some outside fun regardless of wether or not the sun decided to shine. It was only about 72 degrees outside and we didn't last very long at the pool, but the hour we did get before the wind and rain came was well worth it! The kids and i were joined my my little sisters Shania and Skylar. Skylar was hell bent on NOT going on the water slide, but after much persuasion from Shania she built up the nerve and tried it. She LOVED it and went many, many more times! Brenna was good just hanging out by herself in the shallow waters... and Sam shivered in the water the whole 15 minutes we were in it, then he and I sat pool side and watched the other kids play. The water was warm, and I am ready to go back!
Jungle Jim's... on a whim....
Last weekend Bill and I decided to take the kids to Jungle Jim's and at the last minute invited his sister Steph, her boy West and his two kids Jamie and Sean. The kids really enjoyed themselves, and it was fairly inexpensive. We will have to try it out again sometime! Thanks Steph, West, Jamie and Sean for joining us last minute!
Brenna's primping...
Finger painting.... with bag balm....
I am going to applogize right now for my catching up of posts... I haven't uploaded my camera for a couple weeks... so there is kinda an overload.
This post of course is all about the terrors of my Sam, again! A couple weeks ago he was being quiet, always a bad sign!!! When i went in his room to check on him, this is what i saw....
Sam had climbed up the drawers of his dresser and got the can of bag balm down... I don't know what he was thinking spreading it all over his pants, but let me tell you... STAIN!!!! I am still trying to get the greasiness out of his pants... any suggestions?

Happy Father's Day
I want to take a quick minute to wish the most important men in my life a Happy Father's Day! I have been very blessed with a wonderful husband and father for my kids. He is the rock that holds our family together and I couldn't see my life without him in it. I also, have an amazing daddy myself. He is so selfless, and has been an excelent example of what it means to be a great dad. He is more than I could ever ask for in a dad, and he is a great papa to my kids. Happy Father's Day both of you. We love you!

The Terrible, Horrible, No good very bad DAY!
Do you ever ask yourself, Why did I get out of bed today? Is this all there is to life? And where the heck I left my car keys?
Well, today has been one of those days for me... although nothing has really gone terrably wrong persay... I didn't put my bra on backwards to find it fit better that way... for that I am thankful. I am just down in the dumps, pooped, and being tested at every moment possable! I have decided I don't want to do a damn thing today... and being that I am in the mood I am in, I was searching for something to cheer me up, and came across this... made me laugh... just a little...
Don't despair; it's not too late to turn your life around! Well, unless you are really old (like 30); in that case I suggest alcohol. If you are still a useful member of society (under 30), I gathered some life tips that without a doubt will change your life in such a deep and profound way, you won't even notice!
So with all that said and done, now it's time to sitt down, lean back, open your mind, scratch your tummy, cluck like a chicken and read this pearls of wisdom:
1. Every morning smile to your mirror, but why stop there? Smile to your kitchen table, to your living room sofa and to your iron board. Beware, don't smile to your dishwasher it may take it as provocation.
2. Always put your smile on. People will assume you are a crazy person and won't mess with you.
3. Be kind to others, send me money.
4. Live every day like it is your last.Crawl into a corner and cry.
5. Live every day to the fullest. When going to the bathroom take a newspaper!
6. Drinking is not a solution, unless we are talking about alcohol.
7. Better to give, than to receive (true only on case of infections).
8. Clothes don't make the man, but being naked will get you arrested.
9. Don't put all your eggs in one basket, put all of then in the fridge they will last longer.
10. Remember everybody makes mistakes, and you will have the opportunity to laugh on them.
11. Always follow your dreams; just be sure to check that Pamela Anderson is also on board.
12. Give a man a fish and he might take it the wrong way...
13. Honesty is the best policy, at least that what Pamela always telling me.
14. Time is money. Stop reading stupid articles!

The Sounds, Paramore, and NO DOUBT!!!
I know this post is a little late... well a lot late! On Memorial Day I was honored and privlaged to accompany my beautiful niece Ella to the No Doubt concert! I was SOOOO phsyced to be seeing them live, and also because it is there first tour since re-uniting! Can't wait for a new album to come out now.
It was quite the experience! I was able to catch my beautiful niece as she passed out in the concession line, and we hadn't even seen No Doubt yet! In fact we hadn't even made it to our seats yet! I guess that is what you get when you combine a pregnant girl, 35 minutes standing in line in the sun, and no water! Well, after being checked out by the medic's we were given the OK to stay and see the concert! YAY! We found our seats and soon after the show began! First band out was The Sounds. I hadn't ever heard of them, but quickly became intrigued! The were really good... then came Paramore! I was REALLY excited to see them (not nearly as excited as I was for No Doubt) and they said that SLC was there favorite crowd yet! HELL YEAH! I guess that is what you get with all these avid twilight fans we have here! Then NO DOUBT came out! They put on the BEST show ever! It is deffinately going to be a tough night to beat! I loved every second of it. Great music and even better company. I love you Ella, and thank you for this wonderful treat! xoxoxo I wouldn't trade that night for anything!!!
Waiting for the concert to start!
NO DOUBT came out, can you see the excitement???
Me... enjoying the show!
In the parking lot after the concert... waiting for traffic to die down. So tired, no voice... and Loved it!!!

My little "MAN"....
Well, Sam has been off and on in useing tha pot... However last week I went through 92 diapers in one week! Yeah thats right! Everytime he would pee he would take his diaper off, and finish in the potty... so when I QUICKLY ran out of diapers, I contemplated buying more. I made the decision to not buy anymore. Instead we went to the store and bought one more package of underwear (being that we go through them quickly too) and some pull ups. He LOVES to be in underwear... but we have learned that if he has pants on over them, he is more prone to accidents. I think he forgets that he is wearing them. So for this week he has been wearing underwear durning the day (with a shirt) and that's it. He does really good with them for the majority of the moring... then in the afternoon he seems to get a little lazy, which is okay... I am shocked that it is even happening this soon as it is. He is totally taking the lead with his potty training and I am just trying to be supportive... we have come up with a rule though, after 3 accidents in his underwear, he has to wear pull ups. And that seems to be working out pretty well being that he loves to wear the underwear...
Also today we made even more progress! He decided to pee standing up for the first time. I have been telling Bill that he needs to take on some of the training being that I am not a boy and can't show him certain things... his response has been "you teach him to pee sitting down, and once he has that down I will start on the standing up..." Yeah, way to duck out of it dad! Well today, all on his own, he went to go potty and as I lifted him onto the potty he said "No, Stand!"... so I pulled up a stool (being that the toilet stands well past his waist) and he stood there and went. Granted I had to tell him he needed to hold his penis so the pee didn't go everywhere, but he made less of a mess than his daddy does! Maybe it isn't such a bad idea for mom to teach him... I can make it a habbit to clean up his mess, and put the toilet seat down while I am at it! LOL... I didn't take a picture cause I didn't know how appropriate that would be, although I contemplated it REALLY hard! Let me just tell you, that it was the CUTEST thing ever... he was so shocked and loved watching it land in the potty. His excitement was just so sweet! And to top the day off... he peed standing up 3 more times... that is until he fell off the stool... lol... poor kid! Yay for Sam, and Yay for me!!!

My my my poker face....
Sniffle, Sniffle, Cough...
A quick post on our household... we are all a bunch of sickies this week... aside from Bill, who has been working ever so hard! Brenna started the little cold, and then Sam picked it up, and now myself. Needless to say, we are quite the misserable household right now. The house is a mess, the kids are crazy whiney, and I just want to crawl in a hole for the next few days until 1. I feel better and 2. the kids feel better. I am sitting here trying to work up some motivation to get something done, but I am finding very little result. Grrrr... Summer hits FINALLY, and we get Rain, wind, and a cold! Lovely! Until next time.. *Sniffle, cough* I am out!

High and tight....
Well, this post kinda coinsides with the last post... While Brenna and I were at Shopko, apparently Bill too got a wild hair up his butt! When we came home, My little Sam had a buzz cut! Goodbye mo-hawk... I was shocked to see his hair, and honestly quite sad. He looks totally different without the hawk. But, I guess it is time to grow it out and give him a normal boy hair cut... I think we will go back to the fo-hawk look... LOL... Bill was tired of the hawk, and I don't blame him. The hair cut that was only supposed to be for fun and last a couple months lasted nearly a year. Sam seems happy about it, but I need to have a little more hair on his head than this. Oh, yeah... and it looks funny, cause where his mo-hawk was is all white, and then the rest of his head is tan... Gotta get him outside to put a little color on that spot.
My garden...
Yesterday afternoon, I got a wild hair up my butt to get my front garden planted finally. My neighbor came over last week and tilled it for me, so I could pull out all the stuff that was planted. Brenna and I went to shopko and picked out some flowers. I was out until 9 last night planting. I still need to go get another bag or two of top soil, but it looks 100 times better than it did! I am excited to finally have a garden that I can easily maintain!

Kielee's end of year program...
My niece Kielee had her school performance last week. Each grade did a dance and the first graders (Kielee's grade) did the chicken dance. Let me just quickly explain a few things about my niece. She is one of the BIGGEST dorks you'll meet... and she is also at one of those wierd awkward stages we all go through in life. She makes me laugh, she is soooo funny. Just watching her dance was making me giggle cause she was just soooo into it, and then every time they were supposed to start skipping... she would get a couple more wing flaps in before she realized it was skip time... and she did it EVERY time! As I was sitting there watching her, giggling to myself, trying to be a supportive aunt... I noticed the girl next to her... Now, lets talk about AWKWARD! This girl has no hope... I know, I shouldn't be rude, but after the dance this girl comes running up to Kielee and was telling her to come play with her.... it hit me, Oh My... not only is my niece such a dork (I really mean that in a good way, you just have to know her like I do) but she is friends with this girl. I am sure she is a nice girl, and really she is a VERY happy, enthusiastic person as you can see from this video. So, when I get home after a very scarey ending to the program (my other niece had a seizer while we were there) I headed home and was sitting on my porch... okay now I am sure I am going to confuse everyone here... but my niece Kielee's dad owns the house next door to mine. My sis and him split a few years back... anyway, he just so happened to be doing some maintnance at the house next door, so I called him over to show him the video of Kielee's dance. As he watched it, I started telling him how the little chubby girl next to Kielee was her friend, and he quickly replied, "Oh, I know!" Apparently they were at her school one day playing on the play ground and this little girl was there too... Then he says "That is Miss Magee's daughter!" Okay, so I must say I lost it! Not only is this little girl completely dorky (seriously I don't mean that badly, but I am sure EVERYONE knows what I mean) but her last name is MAGEE!!! That poor girl has no hope really! Anyway, I know I totally got off track here, but I just had to share that.... I hope you all enjoy this video. It makes me laugh so hard I cry everytime I watch it, but that is probably just because I know my niece and she just makes my day! Enjoy!!!
