Mixed up lyrics: According to the Tomlin's...

Recently the kids have become more vocal about the music they like and though they have always loved to sing along to the radio, I have noticed them singing around the house just by themselves.
I know we all do it, ya know think you know the words to the song and then one day someone sets you straight and it is somewhat embarrassing or even humiliating.
I know I have had those moments FAR too often, but I just grin and continue on my merry way continuing to sing the song just as I had before.

Sam has taken a liking to LMFAO's "Sexy and I know it"

(Warning:  Adult content may be present)

He has even started singing it in the middle of preschool, where I had to quickly correct his behavior.  Not that singing is bad, but I am not sure that the choice of song is really appropriate for a bunch of 3,4, and 5 year old's....

Well yesterday Sam was sitting on his bed singing this part:
"Girl look at that body... Ahhh... Girl look at that body... Ahhh.... Girl look at that body... Ahhh I work out!"

Only according to Sam it's:
"Girl look at that potty... Ahhh... Girl look at that potty... Ahhh... Girl look at that potty... Ahhh I work it out!"

Clearly, I like Sam's version MUCH better!
Though he now knows how the song really goes.

Brenna is a big Adele fan these days (she has her mom's taste in music).
She is always singing "Set Fire to the Rain"

Only when it comes to the chorus she says:

"But I set fire, to the rain... Watch it burn and I color plates..."
Hmmmmm, not sure how she thinks that makes sense, but okay!

Another one Sam messes up the lyrics on is by Live.
The song is "Operation Spirit"

The first lines of this song say, "Give it up, Give it up, Give it up..."
This has been one of Sam's favorite songs for as long as he has been old enough to enjoy music.  when he was really little, I would say one-ish, I would turn on this song and he would sit in the backseat of the car and bob his head to the music in the beginning.  When it would end he would say "AGAIN!"

Once he got old enough to start singing along he has always said those first words as:
"Get it up, Get it up, Get it up..."
It doesn't matter how many times I tell him it is Give it up, he is sold on Get it up.

What songs do you mess up?  I would love to hear.

I know there are more, but I just can't think of them right now... I will have to write them down and maybe make this a recurring topic here on my blog.
